\nha reso noto il 19 dicembre che lo stilista Giambattista Valli entra
\na pieno titolo nella Haute Couture francese: la Commissione per la
\nmoda riunita al Ministero Francese dell’Industria gli ha conferito la
\ndenominazione ”Haute Couture”. Per celebrare l’importante traguardo
\ndi uno dei miei stilisti preferiti ho voluto creare questo post
\nomaggio alla sua carriera. Sin dalla nascita del brand sono rimasto
\naffascinato dal suo stile raffinato dall’appeal retr\u00f2, ma mai
\nnostalgico perch\u00e9 sempre caratterizzato da un tocco contemporaneo e
\nfresco, proprio come lui stesso, che indossa un girocollo di perle
\nMughal del diciassettesimo secolo, abbinato ai jeans e le sneakers.<\/span><\/div>\n

\nhas announced on December 19 that the designer Giambattista Valli
\nenters officially into the French Haute Couture. The Commission met
\nat the French Ministry for fashion industry, bestowing on him the
\n”Haute Couture” title. I wanted to create this post-tribute to his
\ncareer for celebrate the goal of one of my favorite designers. Since
\nthe inception of the brand I was fascinated by his refined style with
\nthe retr\u00f2 appeal, but never nostalgic, because always characterized
\nby a contemporary twist, just like himself, who wears a necklace of
\nMughal pearls from the seventeenth century, matched with jeans and
\nsneakers.<\/i><\/span><\/div>\n

\nstilista nato e formatosi a Roma all’Istituto Europeo del Design
\n(1986) e alla Saint Martin School di Londra (1987), dopo anni passati
\na copiare spassionatamente le silhouette di Yves Saint Laurent e le
\nillustrazioni di Gruau. <\/span><\/div>\n
\nTornato a Roma (1988) entra
\nnell’atelier di Roberto Capucci, dove conosce l’alta moda e impara la
\nraffinatezza dei dettagli osservando le creazioni del maestro, noto
\nper i suoi abiti scultura che giocano con la forza di gravit\u00e0. Gli
\nanni ’90 sono caratterizzati da continue evoluzioni: cinque anni come
\ndesigner per Fendissime (1990); nominato senior designer da Krizia
\n(1995); conosce Emanuel Ungaro (1996) che lo prende sotto la sua ala
\nprotettiva, nominandolo direttore creativo (1998) e infine lancia la
\nlinea sportiva Ungaro Fever (2000). Gli abiti di questo periodo
\nmanifestano una femminilit\u00e0 selvaggia, con contrasti di colori
\nbrillanti e stampe floreali in pieno rispetto dello stile Ungaro. <\/span><\/div>\n

\n2004, a fine contratto, lascia Ungaro e annuncia il lancio del suo
\nbrand omonimo; nel frattempo viene nominato co-direttore creativo di
\nIceberg insieme a Paolo Gerani, collaborazione che durer\u00e0 fino alla

\nsilhouettes of Yves Saint Laurent and Gruau’s illustrations, he
\ndecided to study at the European Institute of Design in Rome (1986)
\nand at the Saint Martin School in London (1987).

\nOnce back to Rome (1988) entered the
\natelier of Roberto Capucci, where he knew and learnt the refinement
\nof details by observing the creations of the master, known for his
\nsculpture dresses that play with the force of gravity. The 90s are characterized by continuous
\nevolutions: five years as a designer for Fendissime (1990); appointed
\nas senior designer at Krizia (1995); meets Emanuel Ungaro (1996) who
\nappointed him as creative director (1998) and finally launches the
\nsporty line Ungaro Fever (2000). The clothes of this period show a
\nwild femininity, with contrasting bright colors and floral prints
\nrespecting the Ungaro style. In 2004, at end of the contract, exits
\nUngaro and announces the launch of its eponymous label. In the
\nmeantime he was appointed co-creative director of Iceberg with Paolo
\nGerani, in a collaboration that will last until the SS 2009

\ncollezione Giambattista Valli nel grande salone da ballo
\ndell’InterContinental Hotel di Parigi, si dice in omaggio al suo
\nidolo Yves Saint Laurent che era solito tenervi le sfilate d’alta
\nmoda. Il suo stile \u00e8 elegante e delicato,
\nispirato agli anni ’50, ma con un twist contemporaneo, adatto alle
\ngiovani it girl del jet set internazionale, alle quali si era
\navvicinato gi\u00e0 dai tempi di Ungaro. La palette si caratterizza per
\npochissime tonalit\u00e0 neutre e una massiccia presenza di nero, che
\ncompare sempre anche sotto forma di dettaglio a contrasto, come i
\nlunghi fiocci in vita che richiamano le silhouette di Gruau per Dior. <\/span>

\nHotel in Paris, to pay an homage to his idol Yves Saint Laurent, who
\nused to set there the haute couture shows. Giambattista Valli style is elegant and
\ndelicate, inspired by the ’50s, but with a contemporary twist,
\nsuitable for the jetsetters and the it-girls, known since the days of
\nUngaro. The palette is characterized by few neutral tones and black,
\nwhich always appears in the form of contrasting detail, such as a

\npizzo macram\u00e8, piume, inserti animalier con giochi grafici
\nminimalisti, trionfi scultorei di fiori e stampe dal sapore moderno
\nche sembrano rifarsi a Mir\u00f2, Calder, Picasso, Mondrian e Vedova. La
\npalette acquisisce una nuova vitalit\u00e0 con le gradazioni calde del

\ngraphic, sculptural triumphs of flowers and prints that seem to refer

\nsua collaborazione con Moncler. la linea di piumini haute couture
\nMoncler Gamme Rouge. Una linea fatta per signorine bon ton non
\navvezze ai piumini, ma che non possono fare a meno di essere al passo
\ncon i tempi, sempre pi\u00f9 tendenti ad un look sporty e giovanile. Nel
\nGiugno dello stesso anno debutta la linea di abiti da sposa con ben
\n12 creazioni, frutto dello stile Valli, per una sposa moderna, ma che
\nstrizza l’occhio alle icone del passato e ai protagonisti della Dolce
\nVita romana.<\/span>

\nnamed Moncler Gamme Rouge. A line made \u200b\u200bfor bon-ton ladies not

\ntimes, tending to a sporty and youthful look. In June, debuts his
\nwedding line with 12 dresses designed for a modern bride, who looks

\nsuits in the shades of green, eggplant, black or the burning red from
\nthe Mannerist painters, all declined in large volumes, puff-sleeves,
\nslim silhouettes, matched with ladylike hoods and sophisticated long

\ncome membro ospite nel calendario della haute couture per la
\ncollezione FW 2011 e finalmente il 19 dicembre gli viene conferita la
\nnomina di Haute Couturier ed entra a pieno titolo nell’Olimpo della
\nModa.

\nBut the big reward came in 2011, when
\nthe F\u00e9d\u00e9ration Fran\u00e7aise de la Couture du Pr\u00eat-\u00e0-porter des

\ncalendar as a guest memeber for the FW 2011collection. Finally on
\nDecember 19 he has received the title of “Haute Couturier”
