Until 30 May 2013 the Textile Museum of Prato hosts “Vintage. L’irresistibile fascino del vissuto” an exhibition that explains the spreading and the evolution of second-hand clothing in costume history since Middle Age to nowadays.
December 1st is the WorldAIDS Day and the world of fashion contributes at the various fundraisers with several capsule collections. When it comes to charity, is not very politically correct to make distinctions between a brand or another, but this time you have to forgive me because there are two collections that really caught my attention, the “whispered” one by Maison Martin Margiela and the OVS Industry one.
In the last three or four years, fashion made us dreaming with clothes and accessories studded with Swarovski crystals, feathers, gold leaves, pvc scales or covered with colorful kaleidoscopic prints. During the Milan fashion week, the fashion shows are a great opportunity to discover a “secret city”, made of breathtaking locations out of the tourist trails. The young Italian-Haitian fashion designer Stella Jean has presented her spring summer 2013 collection in the beautiful late-baroque church of the Rotonda della Besana. The show begins with the first episode of a fashion serial by Ilaria Curcio and Philip Jacobsson named LES FILLES DE L’EAU. It speaks about three women from different worlds searching the solution of an enigma. Water is the only element of conjunction. Obviously, the clothes of the protagonists are by Stella Jean.
