New Talents – VINCENT Spring Summer 2014 collection

Sea, jellyfish, fishermen’s nets and a legendary island are the main inspirations for the new VINCENT spring summer 2014 collection by Vincenzo Billeci, the young Sicilian fashion designer who retrieves the traditions of his native place with a contemporary twist.

The first dawn lights and the last sunlight rays of the sunset stand out on total white mini dresses as small overlapping colorful torn bands, creating an unfinished effect, merging one into the other.
The show goes underwater, in the deepest abysses, where “candy” jellyfishes play hide and seek through the long fishing nets of Sicilian fishermen, who go offshore in the night under the protection of Our Lady of the Sea.

The candid white clothes of the legendary women of Isola delle Femmine (the Females Island) reflect the sunrays and dazzle anyone who looks at them. The whiteness of muslin shirts with breathtaking V-necks paired with intricate weft skirts hiding dangerous sequin jellyfish, clashes with the dark and deep colors of A-line mini dresses or long lace evening dresses.

Among the must-have accessories such as the SilverCowBag, there are new colorful versions of the Rosalie Bag such as teal and gold, coral and tar, geranium and silver, in addition to the new born metallic mauve Spine Bag with golden strap and a pop herringbone silver detail.

Once again Vincent surprises us, seduces us and invites us to spend an unforgettable holiday among the secret coves of “his” Sicily, developing a more and more personal and recognizable style that looks to the Sicilian craftsmanship tradition, but totally steeped in contemporaneity.
